Isle of Stories Festival 2017: AWA Printmaking Workshop

Inspired by the amazing range of exotic plants, booming colours and wild patterns at Achamore Gardens, this drop in workshop gave participants the opportunity to be inspired by nature and create their own handmade print. This workshop taught participants skills in collage, relief print and mark making.

AWA: Curiosity and Imagination - Session 1

In JUNE 2017 Amy will be working with the staff and children of Isle of Gigah School in Scotland to facilitate Creative Outdoor Learning Research, in partnerships with Cambridge University. 

Over the next 6 weeks children aged 3 - 6 year will be leading discovery sessions in the local woodland. They will be exploring ideas such as shelter, shelters on the move, pathways, navigation and journeys through wild construction, experimental drawing, storytelling and object making. An exhibition of participants work will conclude these research sessions.

AWA’s Spring workshops introduce students aged 5 - 11 to key concepts in Ecoliteracy through placed based learning adventures.

AWA’s Systems Thinking Workshop will begin with a coastal expedition where students will be identifying and gathering living things. Group drawings at our beach lab will introducing the concept of ecosystems and give the opportunity for students to express and explore the relationships between living things, their environment and human beings.

Part one of our three day event will focus on introducing the process of decomposition to students through a costal Litter Hunt and series of group drawing sessions in our outdoor Lab.
