AWA’s Spring workshops introduce students aged 5 - 11 to key concepts in Ecoliteracy through placed based learning adventures.
AWA’s Systems Thinking Workshop began with a coastal expedition where students were asked to identify and gather living things. Group drawings with their findings helped students explore the concept of ecosystems and gave the opportunity for students to express and explore the relationships between living things, their environment and human beings.
Self-refection on a Systems Thinking approach to relationships between living things, from micro to macro ecosystems, took place in our afternoon session. Students were asked to tell do this through storytelling whilst working with clay and collected natural materials.
An exhibition of storytelling objects will be created by our students in April 2017.
